The Abia Police Command have rescued Five victims who were involved in a fatal motor accident along Port Harcourt-Enugu Expressway, near Lekwesi Umuchieze in Umueneochi LGA of Abia State.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Maureen Chinaka disclosed this in a statement that the driver lost control while descending a slope at the aforementioned location, leading to the destruction of two military barricades which he wanted to use as wage to the truck, he eventually got to the third barricade which was the police checkpoint but collided with a stationary bus, resulting in the death of two passengers and injuring five others.
ASP Maureen said normalcy has been restored to the area but monitoring efforts continue as investigation is ongoing.
She urged motorists to be more careful on highways as safety of passengers should be key to Drivers.
