TRAILER: SHARON OOJA STRANDED IN NIGER REPUBLIC IN ‘OLOTURE’ SEQUEL – THE JOURNEY


Mo Abudu, the media entrepreneur and CEO of EbonyLife Studios, has unveiled the sequel to her human trafficking drama, ‘Oloture‘.

In a post via Instagram on Tuesday, the producer announced that the movie will take the form of a series titled ‘Oloture: The Journey’.

The sequel follows the success of the 2019 feature film ‘Oloture’ which exposed the harsh realities of human trafficking.

In the new series, Sharon Ooja reprises her lead role as a courageous journalist who goes undercover to expose a human trafficking ring.

In the trailer, she navigates a perilous path through Niger Republic, Libya, and the Mediterranean as she fights for her escape.

Kenneth Gyang also returns as the director of ‘Oloture: The Journey’.

Cast in the series includes Omoni Oboli, Beverly Osu, Ikechukwu Onunaku, Daniel Etim Effiong, Patrick Doyle, Stan Nze and Amarachukwu Ono, among others.

The series is part of a broader partnership between Netflix and Ebonylife TV. The deal encompasses two Netflix Original series, several Netflix branded films, and a series licensed for the platform.

The sequel will be available on Netflix on June 28.

Abudu established EbonyLife Films in 2014. Her first film as an executive producer was ‘Fifty’.

Some of her other notable productions include ‘Chief Daddy’, ‘The Wedding Party’, and ‘Your Excellency’.
